I am writing and article about IE6, and I ran across this. I know it is late, but your last paragraph says that Microsoft doesn't support IE6 anymore, but according to this article, http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2009/08/18/microsoft-support-ie6-2014/ they will continue to support it until 2014.

As long as there are stupid people on Earth, there will still be questions like 'Why Is IE6 Still Around?' or 'Why did they vote for Bush?'

Yes, it is probably mostly people with old computers. However, I would think that people donating computers would try to make them as cheap as possible, which would probably mean using Linux, which is free. Unless you meant old donated computers that come with Windows 2000 or earlier.

Old people with old computers. I bet that they are at least 50% of those people. Donated computers in poor countries, old computers for kids.
