FWebDe Is Now Hosted at WPWebHost
If you know me, you would probably know that I love WordPress. You'll also know that if you read a few of my posts about WordPress. Around the blogosphere, I've heard about a new web host specifically designed around WordPress, called WPWebHost. So after doing some research, and deciding between it and other hosts, I decided to give it a try.
I switched to WPWebHost from Just Host. At Just Host, they were generally unreliable (nowhere near their 99.9% uptime "guarantee"), and their support was mostly not too helpful. To keep this short, you should remember that all of the positive reviews about Just Host are paid reviews.
WPWebHost is a web hosting company that specializes in websites powered by WordPress. Their servers are optimized for WordPress, and their team is experienced with WordPress. They have the knowledge to help to solve problems related to your blog.
The switch to WPWebHost has been very easy, with only two problems along the way:
- My ISP taking a very long time to update the DNS settings
- A 500 Internal Server Error
The first problem had nothing to do with WPWebHost, but with my internet service provider, and the second one was solved by creating a new .htaccess file for my permalinks.
Their support staff has been very helpful, also. For every support ticket I've submitted, I've gotten a quick and helpful response.
FWebDe is currently hosted with their Freedom plan. It is a great deal, for $5 a month if you pay every two years. Here are some of the features that you get:
- 50GB of space
- 500GB monthly bandwidth
- Up to 50 domain names
- Unlimited subdomains
- Support for WordPress-related issues
You'll see some hosts that offer "unlimited" space and bandwidth. Of course, this isn't true. So far, nobody has invented an unlimited-size hard drive. 50GB should be enough for most blogs. For comparison, I am currently using about 40MB of space for FWebDe.com (though I haven't transferred my theme demo site yet).
If those features aren't enough for your site, they also offer a semi dedicated hosting plan called the WP Sumo plan. With this hosting plan, you get 100GB of space, and 1TB of monthly bandwidth.
WPWebHost is a great web host with excellent features, with a WordPress-savvy team, for an excellent price. Here is the link again, just in case if you missed it at the top.
Does anyone else use WPWebHost to host their WordPress site? If not, what hosting company do you use? Be sure to leave a comment, I'd love to know.
